One of the goals at jdeforum.com is to understand the JD Edwards Job Market better than anyone else. We are in regular communication with over two thousand United States Companies that use some form of the JD Edwards ERP system.
One of the things that we have noticed is that there are a number of good job boards that are used to post JD Edwards specific jobs, but know one really does a good job of writing and communicating about what is going on within the JD Edwards Job market.
Here at jdeforum.com we believe that are several areas of the market that should be covered consistently. When we talk about the JD Edwards Job Market as a whole we have to talk about what we call JD Edwards Shops. We consider any company that is currently using JD Edwards to be a JD Edwards shop. If companies are running Oracle eBusiness Suite they would be an Oracle eBuiness Suite Shop.
So in a nutshell here at jdeforum.com we are going to track JD Edwards shops closely and report on what they are doing that could result in JD Edwards Jobs. So let’s first ask ourselves, what creates jobs in the JD Edwards Job Market, and what kind of Jobs are they?
Well this is interesting. JD Edwards upgrades for example, create consulting oppertunities for JD Edwards Contractors; so we intend to have a permanent page that displays the number of JD Edwards Upgrades that are currently happening, and the number of upgrades that we believe will happen up to two years in the future by quarter.
It is also interesting to note that sometimes upgrades create full-time JD Edwards Jobs due to new functionality that gets implemented during the upgrade, we will also try to track new JD Edwards Functionality that will be implemented during future upgrades. Again, we will try to track this up to two years into the future and report on any new modules that will be going in at those times.
We will track these upgrades and possible future JD Edwards Jobs by using all the areas within JD Edwards. We did this by visiting the JD Edwards Documentation for EnterpriseOne 8.12 and we chose any area that had it’s own implementation guide. They are as follows:

We will obviously also report on any rumors that we here in the JD Edwards Job Marketplace. For example, we talked with a company in the Los Angeles area a couple of months ago that was trying to implement EnterpriseOne 8.12 Service Billing, and they were looking for a Financial Person with Service Billing experience, and they were willing to pay a salary of up to $130,000 per year.
Companies that are Upgrading their JD Edwards Systems are fairly easy to predict, however, new implementations of JD Edwards are much more difficult to quantify. A company that is implementing JD Edwards for the first time will obviously need to hire new people with JD Edwards Skills. We will do our best to report on these as we find them, however we make no promises other than we will do our best.
JD Edwards Migrations (those companies going from World to EnterpriseOne) also will have a need for both JD Edwards Contractor Jobs and JD Edwards Fulltime Jobs we will report on these daily.
