The Accounting Manger provides financial guidance to the business unit within Sears Holdings. This position ensures the development and implementation of all financial/accounting policies, procedures and controls. Provides financial reporting to the VP/GMM of the business unit.

Qualifications
# RESPONSIBILITES: Summarize monthly and quarterly financial results for management
# Reviews and diagnoses variances to plan and forecast
# Assist in the development of the Annual Plan and Monthly Forecasts
# Ensure adequate controls/processes implemented with regard to key processes to protect company assets (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc)
# Assist in the Annual Physical Inventory process
# Ensure compliance with Tax and other Governmental reporting policies
# Manage month-end accounting process
# Provide regular ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management
# Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled and properly supported on a monthly basis
# Analyzes various accounting/financial issues as requested by senior management.
# Prepares various governmental report requirements.
# Facilitates and implements training programs for their team as needed.
# 5-10% travel

JOB COMPETENCIES / LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
# Bachelors Degree in Accounting
# 5 ? 10 years of strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
# Understanding how to and analyze business financial reports
# Works well with others and team player
# Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others
# Proven track record of managing and developing associates by building, motivating, and maintaining a team
# Excellent communication and presentation skills with various levels of management
# Prior accounting experience with a wholesaler or distributor.
# Knowledge of JD Edwards software is a plus.
# Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
