How many new JD Edwards Jobs are there each month?
Sometimes it’s frustrating to visit Job Boards, let’s take Dice.com for example. I have a job agent set up that emails me the new jobs that were posted the day before, the problem with this approach is that typically I get the postings a day late and many other folks have already jumped on the opportunity. So, now and again I will go to Dice.com during the day and actually use the search.
When I use the search, I will usually open up my settings a bit more than I do with my nightly agent. By that, I mean I will look at full-time jobs and sometimes I will search for the keyword JD Edwards and include all jobs, even those that do not have JD Edwards in the Job Posting Title. One of the things that I notice when I do this are the number of postings that show up that are obviously duplicate jobs. The same job is typically posted by three or four different firms.
I also notice that the same firm will post the exact same job day after day. Last year I answered an add on Dice for a JD Edwards Developer and I got the job. I noticed that the same add ran for the next 45 days. I am sure that the consulting firm that hired me was just using the Job Posting to fill their filing cabinets with resume’s. In my opinion this is bordering on the lines of fraud. As JD Edwards professionals, I feel like when we answer a job posting we should expect there to be a real chance of interviewing for the position. So many companies now days are posting job openings that simply do not exist. This is wrong and any firm that knowingly does this should be called out.
So in order to begin keeping the market place a little more ethical, jdeforum.com will begin recapping the job market at the end of each day. We will post the following at the end of each business day:
- The number of times consulting firms and placement firms post the same job.
- We will try identify duplicate postings and the number of firms that we think are working that particular job.
- We will track these on 3 sites; dice.com, careerbuilder.com and monster.com
We hope that by doing this we can provide some much needed checks and balances in the JD Edwards Job market.
