POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the designated Manager, evaluates and recommends software and hardware systems to management; installs and maintains software systems including the operating system, communications systems, and interactive and batch systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates existing and proposed software and hardware systems to determine appropriateness, effectiveness, and need for change; makes recommendations to management on all technical aspects of the software and hardware systems.
Installs and maintains software systems including the operating system, communication systems, and interactive and batch systems; evaluates software requirements on an ongoing basis.
Monitors the performance of hardware and software systems to ensure accurate and efficient completion of projects; develops methods for improved performance.
Responsible for educating user departments in the operation and use of new functions.
Participates in the recommendation of equipment configurations by investigating types of equipment, attending equipment seminars and reading references materials.
Codes, tests, debugs and documents complex programs, and enhances existing programs to ensure that data processing production systems continue to meet user requirements.
Develops and maintains application design, program specification documents, and proprietary web applications.
Identifies and resolves system operating programs in order to provide continuous business operations.
Interacts with user management regarding project status and user requirements to promote an environment with improved productivity and satisfaction.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Thorough understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
Knowledge of Company’s business practices and vision
Familiarity with the Company’s products and resources
Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, SQL Server 2000, Adobe Acrobat, Visual Studio.net and web-based applications
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to use good judgment in conveying project status and problem escalation
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Must have JD Edwards World or OneWorld experience
Must have Create!Form document development experience
