POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a hands-on strategic contributor that is a key support member to the Meritage Homes management team. There are 2 main focuses of this role: 1) to move data in an efficient manner to support the ongoing efforts of the Region Management team and 2) to provide analytical schedules that analyze and support financial results and proactive decision making. More specifically, the incumbent will generate and issue key management reports relating to cost-performance activities, variances and trends and provide other financial ad hoc analysis as required. He/she must be hands on and have a strong job cost background, comfortable working in a challenging and fast paced environment. From a technical standpoint, the candidate must be an expert excel user, have extremely strong data base management skills, be able to work independently in a highly charged environment, possess exceptional interpersonal/communication skills, be assertive and able to multi-task while managing multiple deadlines and multiple internal customers. The incumbent has a “straight line” reporting relationship to the Region VP Finance, as well as a dual “dotted line” reporting relationship to the Finance Manager.
The incumbent is responsible for managing (among other things):
- The enhancement of the homebuyer experience with Meritage through the efficient and effective management of all data-related financial aspects of the Region.
- The maximization of shareholder value through the effective and efficient data related financial management of the Region.
- The strategic business partnering of the Finance team related to data management and financial analysis issues.
- Efficiently and effectively providing support to the Regional Management and to the Region Vice President of Finance in the preparation of quarterly business plans/updates.
- Special projects will be necessary on an “as needed” basis.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Serve as the senior data management financial person on site for the California Region VP Finance (straight line reporting relationship). · Serve as a strategic business partner to management from operational and financial perspectives. · Support financial meetings with Management on a monthly basis by providing accurate and timely financial information, comparisons, key indicators, etc. · Support the preparation of the Region yearly/quarterly business plans. · Manage the updating of weekly reports in the Regional “G” drive in a prompt, timely and accurate manner (i.e. Price tracker, sales reports, etc.). · Continuously review procedures and internal controls to mitigate the risk of any material weakness in internal control occurring. Update policy and procedure narratives quarterly. · Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills with individuals to internal customers. · Continuously evaluate all operating procedures in terms of control, efficiency and quality of output. · Interface with all other managers both inside and outside of the Accounting/Finance Department in order to learn all financial aspects of the homebuilding business from a data management perspective. · At all times, exercise good judgment in the use of confidential information. · Follow up on discrepancies and Ad hoc financial analyses as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing the Company’s collection activities in accordance with applicable laws,
regulations, and Company guidelines. Responsible for assisting the Corporate Credit Manager in the day to day credit activities .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Issue, monitor, and manage customer credit for the Company.
• Provide backup support to the Corporate Credit Manager by researching and analyzing total customer credit receivables as necessary.
• Review, approve, process and monitor international and domestic letters of credit and other security instruments such as standby letters of credit, and bid, payment, and performance bonds.
• Negotiate with financial institutions and credit insurance providers to receive the lowest banking fees on trade letters of credit.
• Monitor foreign and economic credit risks by customer, country, and currency.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity to aid in facilitating collection activities for the Company.

Large national homebuilder seeking a Regional VP of Finance with strong homebuilding industry accounting and finance experience. This position will provide oversight of financial operations, interact with all departments in addition to outside counsel and land bankers.
 Operational Forecasting- Responsible for the review and analysis of forecasts ; establish divisional profit forecasts and communicating issues to upper management.
 Internal Reporting- Key role in the accumulation of data and the formation of divisional financial forecasts including quarterly, annual and detailed five-year forecasts.
 Strategic Analysis- Financial/strategic analyses on issues effecting the business environment including feasibility of joint ventures, market analysis of new applications and working with suppliers on various business issues.
 Business Strategy- Short and long-term strategic plans, teaming with representatives from each functional area (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to develop/present cohesive strategies.
 Valuations/Analysis- Provide comprehensive analyses and summaries on business decisions, including product line moves, component sourcing and facilities rationalization.
 5 + years in same or similar position.
 Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; Masters degree a plus
 Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office products, JD Edwards/Peoplesoft and Cognos/forecast Â
     software preferred
 Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
