ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Salary Range $65,000 – $80,000

KIK’s Custom Division produces leading National Brand products for Fortune 500 companies including Gillette, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, Procter Gamble, Unilever, Dial, Colgate-Palmolive, and SC Johnson.

 

This position is plant-based at KIK Memphis, located in Memphis, TN.  Custom Division’s Memphis facility procures, blends, fills and packages a wide variety of liquid  personal care, OTC and pharmaceutical products.

 

KIK Memphis is immediately seeking a high performing, growing accounting professional that is looking to make a valuable contribution and is searching for opportunity to progress. As the onsite accounting leader at the Memphis plant, the Assistant Controller is responsible for providing support to the Controller in completing the financial reporting process including managing the period-end close process and assistance in the budgeting & forecasting process in support of the Plant Controller.  Hands-on daily responsibilities include: preparation of account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basisis responsible for Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, audit of product standards, maintenance of inventory standards, labor efficiency reporting for production departments, maintaining customer rebate information and month end closing procedures. The Assistant Controller leads a small staff and reports to the Controller, who is located off site.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the period-end close process including assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis
  • Prepares account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basis.
  • Variance analysis and communication to plant and divisional management.
  • Maintains and establishes internal controls
  • Assists with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Maintenance of the general ledger and supporting documentation
  • Preparation of sales tax returns
  • Assists with the Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
    Coordinates with internal and external auditors
  • Assists with product margin analysis & reports findings to Controller
  • Maintaining and revising base standards in JD Edwards for components and chemicals.
  • Review base material standards to quotation and compare actual labor, overhead and usage costs against standards.
  • Preparing labor efficiency reports for production departments.
  • Inventory control process improvement
  • Reviewing new product listings for distribution to purchasing and specifications
  • Assist in semi-annual physical inventory compilation and reconciliation, FIFO price testing and obsolescence reviews

Prestigious Enterprise Company, located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, is currently seeking a Technical Architecture Manager. Candidate is responsible for the leadership of the technical development team and the lead architect for technology solutions.


Responsibilities:

Directly manage developers.
Ensure that the development team is highly engaged and providing high performance.
Apply a strong project management discipline to the team, with focus on deliverables.
Ensure continuous development of team skills for technical tools as well as design. Develop a team whose members can operate effectively in both disciplines.
Establish and enforce standard operating procedures within the team.
Establish and enforce technology standards.
Work with the Project Managers and Managers to estimate work effort, priorities and implement solutions.
Propose solutions for gaps between business requirements and tool capabilities.
Monitor industry trends and best practices to improve capabilities.
Partner with the IT infrastructure team to optimize HW & SW for best system performance and availability.
Development of architecture strategy.
Provide technical application support.
Travel may be required to support projects and problem management.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of hands on management experience required.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Business Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 7 years progressive experience in design, development and execution of technology solutions.
Demonstrated understanding of SDLC best practices
Exceptional leadership skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Experience participating in the development of an application technology roadmap, must be able to articulate.
Minimum 2 years architecting applications that run on a relational database platform. Experience with setting and implementing technology standards.
***Oracle JDE development experience required.
