Marketing Project Manager

Summary:
The Marketing Project Manager leads one or more projects in support of the Marketing Plan and business objectives.  The Marketing Project Manager plans, executes and completes marketing projects in accordance with Project Management Institute guidelines and Whataburger methodology.  The Marketing Project Manager leads day-to-day operational aspects of each marketing project’s scope, risk and budget while ensuring all documents are current, complete and stored appropriately in Daptiv.   The Marketing Project Manager strictly adheres to and enforces change management procedures and revises planning as appropriate to meet changing business needs and requirements.  Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

Responsibilites:
•Responsible for leading and mentoring strategic project team members and other direct reports within the project scope.

•Responsible for developing relationships with Sponsors and other Stakeholders to build and nurture strong partnerships across all business units.

•Collaborates with other Marketing Project Managers/Directors to ensure best use of resources.

•Accountable and responsible for ongoing project updates with the Group Director, Marketing & Innovation and other Marketing Project Managers/Directors.

•Accountable and responsible for precisely communicating risks, issues or opportunities that cannot be resolved or acted upon at the project level.

•Effectively communicates project expectations to team members, Sponsors and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

•Effectively applies and enforces Project Management Institute standards and Whataburger methodology.

•Plans and manages marketing and innovation initiatives and projects in support of organizational strategies.

•Prepares standard project planning and management documents (e.g., business case summaries, action requests, test profiles, budget estimates, resource plans, statements of work, schedules and closeout).

•Closely coordinates project team efforts through regular updates to drive RIDA documentation to accurately communicate project status.

•Anticipates project delays and adjusts expectations, schedules and resources to stay on course.

•Stays up to date on the objectives, promotional policies and needs of the Company to effectively plan and implement marketing projects that will influence public opinion and promote the Whataburger brand.

•Closely coordinates and controls project change requests with functional users.

•Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and partnerships across all business units, emphasizing marketing functions within the company and its capacity to serve as a productive strategic partner.

•Plays a key role in the organization, confidentiality and communication of the marketing department.  Responsible for the completion of the department work that is critical to the achievement of the business unit and Company goals.

•Defends case for change and budget to meet functional user requirements.

•Responsible for defining resource requirements, budgets, timing, scope and deliverables for each project.

•Responsible for due diligence analysis for vendor selection and for controlling the integrity of invoice and actual work performed.
